The Road to Hana
This is the number one road trip on Maui and a must do for first timers. On the road, you quickly get enveloped by green, as you drive through lush tropical rainforest. The road twists and turns for almost the entire 52 miles to Hana. Turn inland, and you see unimaginable green and rushing waterfalls. Turn outward, it's sapphire blue and foamy white sea crashing onto black lava rock.

Sunrise on Haleakala
I spoke to a park ranger once who said she had been up there 13 years and had never seen the same sunrise sky twice. It’s never the same, but always beautiful. Some consider it a religious experience, as the sun appears to rise from the volcano crater.
West Maui Circle
Nice sights include, D.T Fleming Beach, Honolua Bay and Nakalele Blowhole. The Olivine Pools lay just beyond where the road turns into one lane.
South Maui
Abundant with condos and hotels, this area also boasts some of the best beaches and snorkeling you'll find anywhere on the planet.
Central Maui
The valley part of the Valley Isle is home to the island's main business hub and airport, Kahului.
The funky surfer town of Paia is also in the northern part of this area, as is the Iao Valley. As you start heading south, you'll find the lush gardens of the Maui Tropical Plantation. Even further south, is the harbortown of Ma'alea which is also host to the Maui Ocean Center.
West Maui
As you travel west on the Honoapi'ilani Highway (Rt. 30), you'll pass the surfing, snorkeling, diving, camping and Whale watching at Oluwalu, as you approach the a former whaling town. Lahaina, is now home to many shops and restaurants. The beaches and hotels of Ka’anapali, Kapalua and Napili lie further west and north,
as you round the West Maui Mountains.
